CALL FOR ARTICLES: media psychology, AI, biological psychology, social psychology, the psychological impact of war, climate psychology

In-Mind, a peer-reviewed online magazine dedicated to science communication, is seeking 150-250 word abstracts from researchers exploring a range of topical issues, including media psychology, AI, and social psychology. This is an excellent opportunity to fulfill grant dissemination requirements, translate your research for the general public, and boost the broader impact of your academic work.
 
Articles in social psychology could, for example, address the following questions:
- Why do some social movements work and some fail? What are the psychological mechanisms behind organizing successful movements?
- How do decisions form in large groups?

Details

We are currently looking to publish articles on a series of topical issues that are of particular interest to our audience. This is an invitation to all those interested in writing an article on any of the themes and topics listed below to submit an abstract for an article. If your abstract is accepted, we will invite you to submit a full-length article to the magazine, which will then be peer-reviewed. Abstracts should comprise 150–250 words and can be submitted until June 15, 2026.

  • What is the effect of negative news on social media on people’s well-being?
  • Social media bans in schools - what are the benefits and pitfalls of them? 
  • Why do people believe in conspiracy theories?
 

Artificial intelligence

  • How do people interact and form relationships with AI chatbots?
  • How does using AI tools like ChatGPT influence learning, critical thinking, motivation, and knowledge retention?
  • How does the use of AI (chatbots) relate to cognitive biases?
 

Biological psychology

  • How much sleep do we need, and what are the psychological impacts of sleep deprivation on, for instance, parents? 
  • What is oxytocin, and why does it matter? 
  • What are the long-term effects of stress?
 

Social psychology

  • Why do some social movements work and some fail? What are the psychological mechanisms behind organizing successful movements?
  • How do decisions form in large groups?
  • How do emotions spread faster than facts?
 

The psychological impact of war

  • What is the impact of experiencing war through social media
  • How to talk to children about war?
  • What are the lifelong effects of having experienced war or being a refugee?
  • Why do some people experience post-traumatic-stress-disorder and some don’t?
  • Why do crises amplify fake news acceptance?
  • Institutional trust breakdown
  • Are crisis responses culturally learned behaviors or situational adaptations?

 

Climate psychology

 
  • What are the mechanisms behind the acceptance of climate measures in the general population?
  • Can we explain on a psychological level why the climate movement has lost momentum/attention?
  • How can we restore/improve people’s trust in science and research?
